AWBC, 2023 commiserates with the Embassy of Mexico in Ghana

The Secretariat of the Accra World Book Capital, 2023 (AWBC) visited the official residence of the Ambassador of Mexico to Ghana on 7 December 2022, to commiserate with the Embassy on the sudden demise of the Ambassador, H.E. Enrique Escorza, who died on 29 November 2022.

H.E. Escorza had visited the AWBC Secretariat in April this year to congratulate Accra for winning the 2023 World Book Capital, coming immediately after Guadalajara World Book Capital, 2022; and to pledge his support for a successful celebration in 2023.

Signing a Book of Condolence on behalf of the AWBC Secretariat, Ms. Ernesticia Lartey Asuinura said the Secretariat was saddened by the tragic loss and conveyed the Secretariat’s deepest condolences to Mr. Escorza’s family, the Government and the people of Mexico.

Ms Asuinura was accompanied by Ms Mavis Asante, also with the AWBC Secretariat.
