Accra welcomes Strasbourg’s bid for the 2024 World Book Capital

The city of Strasbourg (France) has submitted a bid to UNESCO for the 2024 World Book Capital title. This was announced by Mr Owusu Tufour, the deputy Mayor of Strasbourg when he visited the Accra World Book Capital, 2023 (AWBC, 2023) secretariat recently and interacted with Ms Ernesticia Lartey Asuinura.

Mr Tufour used the occasion to congratulate Accra for winning the 2023 title and indicated Strasbourg’s desire to collaborate with Accra for the 2023 celebrations. On her part, Ernesticia thanked Mr Tufour for the visit and accepted the invitation for collaboration. She also welcomed the Strasbourg bid for the 2024 title and wished the city well in its bid. Mr Tufour, who is of Ghanaian descent, was accompanied to Accra by his family and some friends. Mr Tufour presented the AWBC, 2023 with souvenirs from Strasbourg.
