A delegation from Accra World Book Capital, 2023, led by the Mayor of Accra, Hon. Mrs Elizabeth Naa Kwaatso Tawiah Sackey was at the closing ceremony of the Tbilisi World Book Capital 2021.
The Ghana Book Development Council and collaborative partners such as the Accra Metropolitan Assembly, the Ghana Publishers Association, the Ghana Association of Writers, the Copyright Ghana, and the UNESCO Ghana, have today, Monday April 25, 2022, commemorated this year’s World Book and Copyright Day at Omanye Aba Hall, Accra Metropolitan Assembly Head Office, Accra.

The Ambassador of Mexico to Ghana, His Excellency, Mr. Enrique Escorza has visited the Secretariat of the Accra World Book Capital 2023 (AWBC, 2023) to extend an invitation to Mrs. Ernesticia Lartey Asuinura, Executive Director of the Ghana Book Development Council, to the official opening of Guadalajara World Book Capital, 2022 in April 2022. Publicity of Accra's designation as UNESCO World Book Capital, 2023 to the international community is ongoing at the Ghana stand (opportunity district) of Expo 2020 Dubai.
The city also intends to use the platform to attract investors/partners/collaborators/sponsors for the various projects earmarked for the title year.
