Accra Signs World Book Capital Charter.

Accra has signed UNESCO Book Capital Network Charter. The ceremony took place at the Mayor’s Office today, February 10, 2023. Accra joins 13 cities who have already signed the Charter.

Accra, the capital of Ghana, is the most populous city of the country. It is a coastal city along the Gulf of Guinea. The city covers approximately 225.67 square kilometres. The Metropolis is nearly 137 square kilometres, with an estimated population of 2,556,972 residents, of which 56% are young adults under age 24.

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

On 22nd September 2021, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) declared the city of Accra as the UNESCO World Book Capital for the year 2023.
