Accra (Ghana) and Guadalajara (Mexico) have initiated a project to promote authorship, books and reading. The project involves the exchange of stories, poems, books and authors between the two World Book Capitals.

Accra, the capital of Ghana, is the most populous city of the country. It is a coastal city along the Gulf of Guinea. The city covers approximately 225.67 square kilometres. The Metropolis is nearly 137 square kilometres, with an estimated population of 2,556,972 residents, of which 56% are young adults under age 24.
